Biography

Alec La Velle is a design engineer with the Driving Safety Research Institute, specializing in scenario development and data reduction. He has experience in scenario testing, development, and authoring for research studies on both the miniSim and NADS-1 simulators for a variety of projects, including driving distraction, warning indicators, advanced driver assistance systems, and automated vehicles.

On recent projects, Mr. La Velle has analyzed simulator data output to refine and verify scenario development accurately meets experimental design and timing required, as well as ensuring that simulator variables created and used are compatible with required inputs for data reduction. Proficient in ISAT and MATLAB, he regularly authors reduction code. He assists in writing technical reports with regard to scenario design and verification of methods used.
